Okay, I KNOW that you have had about a million responses to your questions,

but I want to give my input, too! Bear with me, okay?

1) How much scarring is there with metho treatment or spontaneously resolved

ep? Does the size of the ectopic mass, presence of fluid, HCG levels predict

scarring?

Sadly, the these questions are pretty much unanswerable. With either

treatment scarring isn't looked for, especially with " miscarried " ectopics

(since most are never diagnosed). In any scenario, determining whether or

not any scarring was caused by factors involved with the ectopic or was the

cause of the ectopic would be hard. I suppose that scarring has certain

characteristics (age, type, etc) but it is way beyond my scope of knowledge,

and I have never read anything about it regarding an ectopic.

2) How many repeat ep's happen in the same tube? Of the women who had

successful pg following ep, how many happen in the same tube, how many in the

opposite tube? How often does egg jump to the opposite tube (like Dana's)?

Tucker was my only ectopic loss, so I can't answer this one. I am confused

by the second question, but it's probably my tired brain. There is no

concrete information on an egg jumping to the opposite tube. I think

explained this, and since our spcheels are pretty much the same, I

won't repeat here! LOL

3) Are there hormonal causes of ep, i.e. when scarring or constrictions are

not an issue?

Ectopics can be caused for no diagnosable reason at all. I think

also brought up some of the bcp/progesterone information. I have never heard

of progesterone increasing the chances of an ectopic (from your later e-mail).

4) After HCG levels drop, what happens first: ovulation or AF? That should be

a simple question.

Once again, Miss gave some input on this. It can happen either

way...

5) This is not a med question, just a vent: Why do so few insurance companies

cover IF? Is it not a medical condition?

Because they are total idiots who only care about paying for things that they

deem important. Yes, it is a medical condition in my book. The basic

function that we should all be able to have.

My retrieval wasn't too bad. I was so doped up afterwards that I just didn't

care if there way any pain. If it puts your future mind at ease, I did feel

good enough to blow up over 200 helium balloons for Tucker's due date...

NO! I am not leaving the group. I stared this group over a year ago, and it

is one of the things I am most proud of! I just need some help around here,

as I can't always spend as much time on the computer as I used to...

Glad to hear that your results came back good. That is a scary thing, and I

never want to have to go through all of that again. Glad to hear that you

won't have to, either.
