Yes, I am quite relieved as well. AND, I think I figured out the

source of the intestinal distress. I have been on 500 mg of

Amoxicillan 3 times a day for 13 days now - tomorrow is the last day -

for a sinus infection. I often have a diarrhea response to

antibiotics and I think this was just a delayed reaction to these

(started around day 7 of the antibiotics which is just about right

for an intestinal " wiping out " resulting in the runs. So, I will be

quite relieved when I finish them tomorrow as I continue to have

cramping and really bad cases of abdominal pain always followed by

severe diarrhea (sorry for the detail.) I'm sure it will improve as

soon as I finish the meds tomorrow.

Yes, I did some abdominal " palpating " as well but my cramping is very

low (below the belly button) so it was very hard to tell whether this

was " low enough " to be ovarian/tube pain or intestinal pain until she

was actually pushing on the uterus and ovaries during the bimanual so

it was very helpful to have an " official " exam.

By the second day I knew my pain was WAY too severe to be stretching

not to mention that it was way too early for stretching pain, but I

was concerned that this was ectopic.

I will mention though that in my pregnancy with Hannah I did have

some " round ligament " pain in the 6th week which resulted in an

ultrasound to make sure everything was okay which of course it

was....but this (as I'm sure you know) is pain on one side or the

other and it usually only appears as a brief flash of pain upon

significant change of position (i.e. standing up after having been

lying down) I have had one or two of these pains also but these last

only 3 or 4 seconds and are distinctly located on one side or the

other and ALWAYS preceeded by a change in position. My OB described

these pains as resulting from the " stretching " of the supportive

ligaments that grow on the sides of the uterus and the stretching is

not due to actual uterine growth but is prompted by the hormone surge

that accompanies early pregnancy. SOOOOO, I do believe that some

women WILL have early " stretching " pains in early pregnancy but these

are actually ligament stretching not uterine stretching and should

not cause sustained pain or cramping but only momentary little jabs

when standing or sitting up after reclining.

My DH is taking very good care of me. He's cleaning up the dinner

dishes as I type this! He keeps reminding me to take it easy which is

very nice.

I'm so glad to hear that you are at 31 weeks with no bleed in sight!

Excellent! I was tortuing myself earlier today and watching

the " Labor and Delivery " Marathon on The Learning Channel and they

had all these stories about women delivering premies at 25 or 26

weeks and I thought to myself - WHEW! Thank goodness is past

that point already!!

All my wishes for continued uneventful remaining short weeks! Happy

New Year!

Gwen
