Hi Lindy,

It sounds like you are proximal. Usually, the way I understand it, it

breaks down like this: proximal = up to 100 cm. bypassed, medial = up to

125 cm bypassed and distal = greater than 125 cm bypassed. My surgeon

bypassed 230 cm. on me (but then, at 386 I was no lightweight here...

hahahahaha). I'm not sure, but I think that all of the surgeries cause a

certain amount of malabsorption, but you are certainly much less

malabsorptive than I am. The larger you are, the more intestine they

bypass and the more malabsorptive you become.
