Guest guest
I seem to be in a big remission right now. I gave up my gall bladder about 4 weeks ago and haven't felt this good in a long time. I have been able to eat and unfortunately have gained back 10 of my 80 pounds I lost. I am not happy about the weight gain as I could stand to lose a lot more. However, I have been pain free for about 5 weeks now and have only vomited once since coming home from the hospital. I live in Mishawaka, Indiana. We are a twin city with South Bend. I am about 7 minutes from Notre Dame, depending on the 31 North traffic...LOL. I have a wonderful GI doc and was very pleased with his treatment during my 38 days in the hospital this year. Let me know if you want to know anything else. Take care all! Shari - Singing Pampered Chef Queen *Jesus Loves You*

I'm not wishing for more people to have pancreatitis, but I wish I could talk to others who live nearby. It would be so helpful in finding doctors, hospitals, etc. who are familiar with this disease. I live in Coral Springs, Florida, which is a suburb to the northwest of Fort Lauderdale. It seems like the majority of us are from the mid-West. Are any of you living in South Florida? jang --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Before you buy.

I go to school at Temple, but for the summer I am home in Bucks County. I am looking for an adult GI doctor. I tried Dr. Coben at Jefferson, but he didn't seem overly knowledgeable in my disease (the motility disorder and now the pancreatitis also). He was extremely nice though. I have seen Dr. Long at HUP, but only for consults. Who do you see at Jefferson that specializes in pancreatitis? -Malisa
Guest guest
Andre' I had my Whipple Procedure done in Houston at Methodist Hospital. Dr Jordan and Dr Rosenberg were my surgeons. What pain or where is your pain now? I too go to Pain Management. What medications are they giving you? Thanks, Terri L.

Sometimes it feels as if my back is broken. The pain intensifies and when it does its a squeezing sensation in the upper section of my abdomen (right below the chest where the " v " forms). I also have periodic pain from the scar tissue development from the various surgeries in my past. This is different from my pancreas pain and easily manageable. You say you had your surgery at Methodist Hospital in Houston. I went to this location on several visits. The doctor who originally diagnosed my condition as Pancreas Divisum was Doctor Ertan at Tulane Medical Clinic. He later transferred to Methodist Hospital in Houston. I later made several visits to him and had an ERCP performed at Methodist. That was truly an impressive facility. Unfortunately, my treatment was unsuccessful resulting in my various surgeries to correct my problem. I hope you are having a pain-free day. Guest guest
Andre', Sorry so long in responding back to you. How are you doing since the Whipple? What meds are you on? I have developed diabetes along with all the other problems. What all were you told after surgery or even now to expect? Who did your Whipple and what doctors do you see now? Do you live in the Houston area? Sorry so many questions. I'm trying to catch up and read some of the posts. I haven't been able to get on the computer in a while. Hope you're having a good day.
