My family is so overwhelmed by all my hospitalization that they are withdrawing. I am also very independent and they seem to think that I can handle all of this on my own. Well, surprise - I need them at the hospital with me, especially when I am having the have the heavy duty pain killers. I cannot remember much of anything when the doctors come in and talk to me and I feel really helpless while I'm in the hospital. I'm waiting until my oldest daughter graduates next week and then I'm going to sit them all down and talk to them about what I need while I'm in the hospital from them. Hopefully this will open up some discussion on how they are feeling as well. They tend to avoid the subject when I am having my good times. You're a wonderful person to be so vigilant with your loved one!!!! Sandy
