Hi All!

To add my 2 cents to the current conversation, I am a sugar addict. The only

thing that calms my cravings are the protein shakes and the Pure Protein cookies

and bars. Otherwise I would be a dead chocoholic. I could have died if I just

once partook of all the chocolate that surrounded me this past season. All the

dumping would have taken me away from here <g>. To make things worse, my sister

is a caterer and my husband is her favorite taste tester. This past season she

has had him taste test all of her different variations of cheesecake. The only

thing that saved me was the fact that I knew that I didn't want to experience

the dumping that would come from even one teaspoon of cheesecake. This was one

of the times when I was grateful that I didn;t just follow a diet to get the

weight off but had the back-up help of WLS..

Here are my stats:

53, 5'6 "

Proximal RNY 10/31/97

MCV-Richmond, VA

Dr. H. Sugerman

Pre-op 318

Current 208 (I fluctuate 3-4 lbs up and down)

Currently waiting approval for tummy tuck & breast lift

Some grow, some shrink. Isn't that something? Some lose the fad pads on the

feet, so shrink, and others lose the compression in their backs, so grow!

Me, I'm 5'1 " AND 1/4 " , always was, still am!

Vicki,

You should have said something when you were here in Phoenix. spent New

Year's Eve and day at my house. We both could have met you somewhere. Now I

am wondering why Sunshine didn't say anything about you coming. We

will have to ask her about that. LOL

Give her HELL! I asked her to tell the Phoenix OSSG gang that I was going to

make a live appearance and would love to meet any and everyone! Oh well, I

had a blast . . . you name it, we did it. We drove in around 7:00 pm and got

an awesome Arizona Highways Sunset to greet us at the state line. It was a

wonderful visit! I would like to rename Arizona from the Grand Canyon State

to the Grand Shopping State . . . I went absolutely nuts at Arizona Mills! I

went to the Fiesta Bowl parade, Rawhide, horseback riding through Papago

park, and spent New Year's Eve in Tempe on " Millennium Ave " . . . I'll tell

you I felt like I was in college again I had so much energy and fun! People

that hadn't seen me in 10 years said I looked better than ever . . . I

weighed 125 when I moved away from AZ 15 years ago, so I considered that to

be quite a compliment!

We will have to say something to since I know that she didn't say

anything to me. and I would have for sure come and met you. Next time

make sure that you say something to us also. It sounds like you had a great

time.

I feel that I am VERY close to the end of this " losing " streak, so I have

decided to join this list so that I can move forward with my life and work

on my maintenance. Honestly, though, I would like to lose another 25

pounds. Just wish I could get rid of all this extra skin, then I would be

SO much happier with how I look (but, believe me, I am not complaining)!

Yikes ! That would be so hard to do! But a healthy baby is worth it.

I thought you had posted a while back that you were gaining due to the

pregnancy and you were OK with that? Did you somehow slip into losing mode

again? Just to let you know, I have friend that lost 30 lbs. her first 20

weeks and went on to gain it back plus 20 and had a healthy baby.

Damn! I can sure relate to that one. I've have the most *fabulous* dream

wardrobe in size 12! It's all casual attire (since my work is at a

National Lab that's very casual), but I really have gone overboard and now

need to don only my austerity plan when I go to the mall!

Bare essentials: medial RNY, transected tummy, 348 pounds - 162, 186 lost,

pregnant after waiting a year after surgery, still losing somehow (had

plateaued in August all the way until I get pregnant basically) and now my

full fat cheese, and a milkshake a day (made with ice cream, peanut butter
