Now I am just waiting for my insurance to approve me. I pray it will. I have AdMed HMO. How long have you been waiting for the surgery from the first day you had your doctors appointment? I was lucky to have a wait in his office and met a patient that had the surgery 1 year ago and Ellen Byrd that is 1 month post op. Both were so helpful to me and so encouraging, even though I do not think that I need any encouragement. I am so anxious. I am now working on all the requirements even though Dr. R did tell me that my insurance was not very good so I am getting quotes from some other insurance companies. Dr. R is amazing. He is compasionate, kind and very thorough. The day I saw him I know he was very exhausted, but he acted like he had all the time in the world. You will not be disappointed. Good Luck. Guest guest Posted July 23, 1999 Report Share Posted July 23, 1999 Hi, Charmane, Well, I just went to my Diabetes doctor today and he wrote me a support letter agreeing with the surgery. I spoke with my primary doctor to also write me a letter also supporting my decision but, I got the feeling she does not agree with it. She wants to speak with the surgeon I went to see. We will see what happens. Dr. R sounds like a great doctor. I only wish that my insurance would cover the surgery with him. Since I have an HMO through my work they will not cover outside of their network. I am sure you will get your answer soon. Best of luck! Liz, Miami,Fl.
