Guest guest
All, e-mailed me a question about the ANA test. Sorry I did not write it out. It is anti nuclear antibody test and is known under other descriptions. Lab Tests Online is a great website to research lab tests, their results, and what they are used for. I had used it in the past and forgot about how useful it was until reminded me about it by asking a question. Lab tests online says this about the ANA test : The ANA test is ordered to help screen for autoimmune disorders and is most often used as one of the tests to diagnose systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Depending on the patient’s symptoms and the suspected diagnosis, ANA may be ordered along with one or more other auto-antibody tests. Other laboratory tests associated with presence of inflammation, such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and/or C-reactive protein (CRP) may also be ordered. Hope this clarifies the test and check out the site, I am going to add to my favorites so I don't forget about it. Bennie
