Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I have a question about vascular medications. Jill is presently on 60mg/day slow release nifedipine for poor circulation in her feet and hands. This had been working quite well until recently and last Friday she had problems after her water therapy. She has physio in a warm pool (probably 85-90 degrees). When she got out of the pool and into the change room, I took off her water shoes and her right feet was black from the large knuckle joint to the top of her big toe. It took two to three minutes for the circulation to come back to this area. My own theory is that the drastic change from warm temp to cold may have caused this problem and Jill's mito doc said she has heard of this happening in other mito patients. Jill's pediatric cardiologist (he is the doc who prescribes the nifedipine) says he doesn't see many children with vascular issues since it generally is an adult problem. He has suggested several ways to deal with this but hasn't decided which one as of yet. Is there anyone on this list (adult or child) who has severe vascular problems and if so would you mind sharing what you do to combat this problem? I would appreciate any suggestions.
