Hello,

I wanted to share some important information regarding our Behavior Specialist and those individuals directly working with our children with autism. Due to the fact of the realignment in the county, several of our dedicated, seasoned, compassionate and hardworking professionals have been moved to positions out of their current environments. What does this mean for our children, oh so much, and all of the hard work, time and effort we have put in with our children is being sacrificed with this new change..

For those of you who are not aware, the county has re-aligned the four area offices into three. Thereby, moving, changing or even eliminating positions that are so desperately needed.

I do not need to emphasize what is most important to our children, or do I?

This change will be having an immediate change with the continuity of staff that work with our children on a daily basis. As well as, put aside the long standing relations with students, parents and schools that does not happen overnight.

Most importantly are the established relationships and clear understanding of the needs of our children, which now is being thrown out the window..

With the realignment of the area offices, the Behavior Support team at SCAO with the most seniority are being moved to other areas.

This is not something that we wanted to have to hear about just as the school year is about to end. Help make a difference now.
