Guest guest
Hi again Rita Fwiw, my memory of Catholic Grace is having made confession and being absolved and fit to receive Communion, but that was a long time ago, and I may be wrong. I had a pretty traumatic experience as a child about taking Communion when I thought I wasnt in a State of Grace, which blighted me well into after I had renounced the religion. P. Often times, I couldn't think of anything bad, so I'd make something up. Afterwards I would quickly say the prayers I was told to say. So, I guess I was absolved from sins that I didn't even commit. Hey, maybe I actually have a few coming to me? Guest guest
Let us now turn to page 69 of our XA hymnal and all together, in the spirit of our brotherhood, sing " I've Been Redeemed " Please lift up your voices to your individual higher powers. I've been redeemed by the sins of my sponsor. Filled with the higer power I am. All my sins are washed away I been redeemed. He Led a life of sin and strife Screwed around with the preachers wife. Poor sad slob he didn't see the light Till his higher power almost took his life I've been redeemed by the sins of my sponsor. Filled with the higer power I am. All my sins are washed away I been redeemed. Then he hit the Oxford Group Where he met B double u He just picked up his 29th chip Thinking we'd forgot about his 28 slips I've been redeemed by the sins of my sponsor. Filled with the higer power I am. All my sins are washed away I been redeemed. But that's ok cause he's such a great guy I know it's true because he told me so He's lived his life by the 12 and 12 With only a thirteenth now and then I've been redeemed by the sins of my sponsor. Filled with the higer power I am. All my sins are washed away I been redeemed. Re: Re: Rita: Grace Speaking of the Apostle's Creed, everytime I hear that BS about " Religion is for those who fear hell, spirituality is for those who've already been there, " I think, " Oh, so if you're an alcoholic you're like Jesus! " And the other night I sat in a meeting while one of the AApostles talked about all the terrible things that happened to him and said, " You don't have to go to jail, end up homeless, etc... because I've already done it for you. " Oh, so your suffering has redeemed me. Glad to hear it, Bud.

One 15-year-sober guy went up to a woman who had been in the program for a while but just picked up a white chip and said " Thank you for drinking, so I don't have to. I'm sorry you drank, but I'm glad it was you and not me. " Then there's the NABA club, which has the slogan " so others may live " , which is from the statement that " some have to die so others may live " . ----- http://listen.to/benbradley
Guest guest
Ben, all this might give a cynic cause to wonder if the AA cult might be practicing human sacrifice, in a modern and semi-respectable sense. > > I've often seen the idea that some people's drinking keeps others > sober.
