4 days post op. 1 question

Hey everyone

I am 4 days post op and have a question. I feel like my swelling has

come to a stop. Not gotten better but stopped. The pain in my jaw

is not the worst. I recieved elastics yesterday to begin wearing for

3 weeks. I was happy to get them thinking they would relieve the

pressure off my jaw. Well I was wrong. They are very painful. They

are like getting an ortho adjustment times 10. The problem is that

they keep pulling on your teeth and the pain does not stop. How has

anyone else copped with this post surgical tooth pain? Does is it go

away or do I have to wait 3 weeks. Other than that things are going

reletivaly well. thanks.

The rubber bands were the worst part of this whole deal IMO. I'd

like to tell you that the pain will pass quickly, but it didn't in my

case. Are you wearing them full time? Once I adjusted to wearing

them full time the doc switched me to 4 hours on, 4 hours off. This

was miserable. I'm finally wearing them only at night now, and they

only hurt when I wake up in the morning. Take whatever medication

you need to get through it.
