Guest guest
Please send my best to Karyn, though I am new to this board. I would suggest that if the picc is infected that you push for a port-a-cath. It is implanted under the skin, about a 1.5 inch scar, but I cannot tell you how much better it is to end up in the hospital without having to be stuck 15-20 times to get a line going that only infiltrates within 6-8 hours, and have to start the whole process again. If I had known more about them, I would have pushed for it sooner. I have absolutely NO veins left. Also, this is low maint when not in use--flushed monthly. Unfortunately, I have only had to have mine flushed at home once since it was put in in Sept cuz I keep ending up in the hosp. I would be glad to answer any questions that I can about it. Guest guest
Dear Karyn, I hope this finds you feeling much better! I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers! You give so much of yourself to this group, I wish I could do something more for you. Please take care and know that I am thinking about you! Love, PS Thank you, Tull for passing on these notes and taking care of Karyn. If only all of us had someone like you in our lives!!
