Guest guest
NYPD has three titles: Police Communications Technician (PCT) Supervising Police Communications Technician (SPCT) Principal Police Communications Technician (PPCT) These are all civil service titles and the PPCT title has two upgrade levels : PPCT Level 2 ( Assistant Platoon Commander) PPCT Level 3 ( Platoon Commander) The PPCT Level 3 is responsible for all calltaking and dispatch operations in the PSAC working under a Platoon Duty Captain. Of the 10 PPCT-3 slots that the Communciations Section has, nine are assigned to the Platoon Commanders office and one is in an Admin Role. The PPCT-2 supports the Platoon Commander and also is assigned to some Admin positions. Guest guest
I forgot to include that I am also the AWCA officer for the borough under OEM. That's Attack Warning Communications Annex officer. Rich Dean wrote: Since the arrival New Jersey's statewide enhanced 9-1-1 14 years ago the title of dispatcher was replaced by telecommunicator and since I am the oldest (with 31 years on the job) my title is senior telecommunicator which brings about $2 an hour more than the others. That's the official title.
