Automatic Door Locks!

Do you have them?? I'm glad I do! Read on.....

Last night, while my 13yr old and I were enroute to see the Lion King Play

we were at an intersection waiting to turn, when this transient decided to

jay walk, directly in front of my car- made eye contact with me and with

Alyssa as he walked past us. He then came on to the passenger side of the

car and attempted to open my daughter's door twice, then went to the rear

door and tried to get in there....thankfully my doors were locked and

windows were up and of course I was wedged in behind other veh's so I

couldn't run away or run him over....so he ran way...after the initial shock

left, I was shaking and of course had to call it in....I pretty much had all

of our Downtown officers next to me in a matter of minutes- including some

under cover robbery units....it was so surreal....the officers took my

statement, my daughter's statement and then they brought in another unit to

come and " swab " my door handles for DNA- how freaky is that?? At first the

units were not aware that I work with them until one of the Robbery units

made a statement about it- it was funny. Then the initial unit made causal

talk with me while getting my " info " . It was just plain weird to be doing

that. This all occurred right about 5:10 p.m. still daylight in the middle

of downtown, all the busn people leaving their jobs...and I have a Ford

Explorer- an old one at that....there were other cars that were better than

mine- like BMW's, MBZ's...but nooooo he chose me.....no weapon was produced

or anything like that....so to say the least, we were shook up but not

harmed and we went on to the show! We had a great time at the show too!!
