Dear Listen Up Members:

I am forwarding this information to you and hope that you will pass it

on to other groups that you belong to and any parents of children with

hearing loss that you may know. My daughter attends the Moog Center and

I know first-hand how terrific their workshops and staff are. People

come from all over the U.S. so their children can attend their oral

school program. If you would like to read more about them, visit their

site at: http://www.oraldeafed.org/schools/moog/index.html

You are also welcome to contact me at mailto:info@... if

you have any questions about it. At $50, their 4 day workshop is a real

steal. It has been subsidized by a private foundation so that it is

feasible for families to make the trip to St. Louis.

Here is the information:

The Moog Center for Deaf Education Presents, " Helping Your Child Learn

Join us for a four-day workshop where you will learn effective ways to

work with your child and help your child learn to talk.

Bring your child and make this a Family Affair. Classes will be provided

for children 2 to 6 years and evaluation of speech and lnaugage will be

provided for children 3 years and up, for an additional fee.

The following topics will be discussed:

- hearing loss and its impact on learning spoken language

- understanding language learning in young children

- turning everyday activities into language learning experiences

- managing your child so your child does not manage you

- mainstreaming your child in playgroups and community activities

Enrollment is limited so that there will be plenty of opportunity for

interaction and hands-on experiences.

The fee for this workshop is $50 and includes a continental breakfast

bar and a happy hour buffet.

Send your name, address, phone number, child's name and age along with

the $50 enrollment fee to: The Moog Center for Deaf Education, 12300

South Forty Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141
