Hi n, I know what you mean about the book thing. I just bought and started

reading last night " A Complete Guide to Obesity Surgery " by Woodward.

It's really a great book but got great big butterfly's in my stomach reading

about all the tubes and how it is after surgery. Very informative and graphic.

I am 5'5 " and weight 301 as of last Tuesday during PAT's. I just can't wait till

next Wednesday then I will be over the hump and on my way down. My sister had

this surgery in May of 2002. She has done really well but does a lot of things

that I know now are no, no's. I really want to do better than that and make it

to my goal with my weight and keeping with an exercise program. When is or was

your surgery and Do you still live in Ohio?

Hey Chris!~ I have the same book good choice and I got the same feeling last

night reading that part about surgery, icu and then the lack of care from the

nurses and the tubes freak me out ahhhh! I'd rather not know, but now I know

seems like too much to do and it seems like you never get to rest? Then I was

watching tv last night and this commercial comes on for a new tv series and it

showed an operating table, blood and it was kinda weird I thought ot myself can

anyone else see this it was grose then, I was like just what you wanna see

before you have surgery lol.I don't live in Ohio, my mom,dad grew up there and

my aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, half sister, are there. I was born here

in California, and raised here, went to Ohio once when I was 13 pretty

different! My mom wanted to raise us kids in Ohio but my Dad dragged her here to

Cali and she has stayed here ,but has regreted it,she left her mom behind and

sister's and brother's etc... I am just waiting for my physc. evaluation

tomorrow and then wait for a date! And you have yours the 23rd right? So what

have you done to prepare yourself so far? If you need any support Im all ears K

your friend n

Well, I have joined about 6 of these list which I love. I have bought my

exercise tapes off of ebay ( and WATP). I have a recumbent bike

in the basement that I have never used because my stomach has always been too

big to ride it. But seems to be what everybody is buying on these list so I hope

I can start using it after I loose this weight. I have all my supplies for the

first week. (Clear liquids). I got one of those hand mixers to mix my protein

drinks. Which I have tried several types of drinks and have them written down as

to if they where good or just plain gross. But according to these list my taste

might change so might have to go back and try the ones over again. Lets see, I

had my dad make a excel spreadsheet this weekend so I could keep track of my

weight, inches loss and things like that. My daughter was just in by bedroom and

she came out and says to me " you are packed for next week all ready and I said

yes of course. " I think that is everything I have done is there anything I have

forgotten that you plan to do? I didn't have to have a psych exam (guess they

knew I was crazy LOL) but did have a sleep study and I do have sleep apnea so I

have a c-pap machine. Then I had blood work and pulmonary function test and ECG.

So you are all insurance approved and everything. I think that is possibly the

hardest thing although I didn't really have any problems but seems so many

people do have.

, I really love the book because I know it is the truth but right now I

almost feel I have to read parts and then take a break. I am getting very

anxious but still excited. I will need to put my calming music on before next

Wednesday gets here cause I can just feel my anxiety rising and rising. Like

mercury rising in a thermometer. LOL . Okay time to get the classical music on

and calm down.
