Guest guest
Jill, My daughter (6 1/2 yrs) just started using the SPRITE at school. She loves it. For the last few years, she'd been using the bulkier Phonak unit with wires too. She really likes it, except at recess because when she " flips over on the monkey bars, the FMs flip off her ears " - I guess because they are so heavy. Our county paid for the SPRITE for school. We're also looking into getting a BTE/FM system at home, and it's been recommeded by two different audiologists that we get the CLARO because it was digital and the best on out right now. Hope this helps, Hogan (mother of Cody 9 1/2yrs, hearing; Jordan 6 1/2yrs moderately-severe loss) In a message dated 9/11/2001 9:47:45 PM Eastern Daylight Time, teroland@... writes: << Subj: Sprite Hearing aid Date: 9/11/2001 9:47:45 PM Eastern Daylight Time From: teroland@... We are looking to purchase new aids and this is one of them that we are looking at. We want to have a transmitter at home and one at school. The insurance would pay 80% of the aids. Right now, she is wearing a very old model of trainer that has wires and a bulky transmitter. Any input would be great!!! Guest guest
Thanks for the input. We are looking to purchase the Sprite for everyday use along with use at school. Unfortunately, our school system is not as giving with the use of funds. Cassidy wears her personal hearing aids at school and there is a boot that attaches to her aid, then a wire runs from the boot to the box. She removes the FM at recess. Our audiologist said the Sprite would be great at home and at school. The school would have to purchase their own transmitter. We would purchase one for home too. Luckily, our insurance will pay 80%. Thanks again. Jill Mom of Karly 9, Cassidy 5 1/2 HOH, and
