My daughter, who is almost 19, has been battling UC and autoimmune hepatitis and then, PSC, since she was two. She has not yet had a transplant but, has had innumerable hospitalizations for both diseases. Her Meld Score right now is 12, although it has been higher. She has missed a great deal of school but graduated on time from high school, holds a very part time job and is taking one college class. She always looks great so everyone thinks she is faking her illness ( this has been a major problem for her in dealing with her peers and teachers). However, she never has a day where she feels well - some are worse than others and has a very difficult time making long term plans because of her illnesses.
