Guest guest
Can anyone explain why patients getting the BHR from McMinn and Treacy are able to be up and walking with (and sometimes without) a cane in a few weeks, while US patients are on crutches for 6 weeks or more. There must be something different in the procedure they do to allow the faster recovery. I am at 4.5 weeks post-op from a LH C+ from Mont. I am on one crutch and 50% or more load bearing. I can walk a little with out the crutch, but I really can't say I'm ready to go without the crutch yet. I know everyone progresses at different rates, but there are just to many UK patients able to walk unassisted so much earlier. Does the UK procedure cut any muscles like the US procedure does? Also it seems the UK procedure take 40 to 50 minutes while the US is 90 minutes or more. Duane
