It sounds as if you are having a tough time of it lately. The amazing thing, though, is how you never let on how difficult a time you are personally having and are always there for the others in our group. I too suffer from constant fatigue, which has been a major problem with me here at work. Naturally, as a nurse you know what the affects of iron deficiency has on you and your energy levels. This should do wonders for you and give you a boost in energy. Maybe, with this increase in your energy level, it may precipitate a more and increased benefits to your health. Whatever happens, it can't possibly make things any worse, could they? :-) Good luck with your procedure and keep us posted on your progress. I hope your transfusion (or are you getting another source of iron) will have you up & feeling frisky. I'm fatigued, exhausted, dragging myself through each day by a strong act of will. I'm not anemic & only sightly hypothyroid. I have multiple sclerosis & that may be the source of the fatigue. I find the severe fatigue alsmost as debilitating as the pain. I think the pain meds are also contributing to fatigue. I spend so much energy trying to cope with the pain and go on with daily activities. When I give up and reach for the narcotics, I think the energy is gone from trying to deal with pain without drugs; the sedative effects of the narcotics are just the coup-de-grace. I didn't mean to whine about my trials; just wanted to say I hope the iron will help you to feel better. janj --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Before you buy. Guest guest
Karyn, Last fall when I was feeling so bad, I also had a big problem with fatigue. My doc said that it was pretty normal because my body was using so much energy to fight this disease. As I start to feel better, I feel less and less fatigued. I can tell when I have flare ups, too. I always feel so worn out! Hope you feel better soon! > > -- > > > > > I am exhausted and fatigued all of the time. >Has anyone else had a > problem with this? I just want to stabilize. I have been anemic for some time. I finally had an appointment with a hematologist and I found out I was iron deficient. Has anyone else had a problem with this? Karyn >> Karyn, I've had problems with iron deficiency anemia as well and yes you do feel exhausted all the time and if yours is as severe as it sounds then you probably do feel powerless. When your iron count increases you will have much more energy. Good luck! Sandy
Guest guest
Karyn, Good luck with the iron infusion. It doesn't sound like a lot of fun but hopefully, you'll get some of your strength back from it! smraef@... wrote: > > In a message dated 05/03/2000 1:27:36 PM Central Daylight Time, > KarynWms@... writes: > > << > Powerless is definitely the word of the day for me. A lot of people on TPN need this. Tell your doctor to do a ferritin level in your blood to see how good your iron stores are. If the ferritin is low you need more iron. -Malisa
