I went and saw my general practitioner today and he was a real jerk about me

asking to go to a pain specialist. He was like why do you think you need a pain

specialist? And I was like because no one is helping me with my pain and I need

someone to help me. Like help me get into something holistic. Then he said well

because of your age no one is going to give you pills. I said I know, I'm not

looking for pills. I just need some help.

Then I tried mentioning getting a second opinion with another orthopedic doctor

because he told me that if i had pain in my leg it should be my right leg not my

left, but it IS in my left leg, so obviously he is missing something. And he

said either we send you to another orthopedic or a pain specialist. Another

orthopedic will just tell your the same thing the other one did. So i opted for

the pain specialist. I hope i made the right decision.

I wish doctors wouldn't discriminate against me because of my age and the way i

look. Sigh.
