Guest guest
Lori, You must have been so scared as you attempted to catch up with your little boy. We have had or will be having this surgery for others as well as ourselves. I am glad you had the surgery. Sally Lori Hannon wrote: Hi (the other!) Cheryl, Thanks for sharing your story. I can relate to a degree about not having Mom and others to turn to for advice. I remember after giving birth to my little boy, wanting so desparately to phone someone up...even just to figure out how to hold the little baby during a bath; there I was, flipping through baby books, trying to figure it out! What a wonderful decision you've made for yourself and your family in scheduling this surgery. Prior to surgery, at 420+ pounds, I have a painful memory of going for a walk with my little 3 yr old at the time. He was on his bike while I walked beside him. He started picking up speed, going down a hill, and I just couldn't move my massive body fast enough to catch him as his speed increased and he grew more and more fearful. As I was trying by best to barrell my body toward him, I very consciously realized that he would have to fall off before I could catch up to him. I had already made the decision to have surgery & had a date scheduled, but it was one of those crystal-clear confirmations that I was doing the right thing. I was not able to protect my son. So, not only had I made the decision to have surgery so that I could be here longer, but to improve the quality of my life and the lives of my family. I'll be thinking of you on the 21st,Lori
