Guest guest
Baron: Your weight loss is incredible. It's amazing to think that we all may be here one day and see a former 500 pound guy down in the 100's. It's just plain old amazing. How could I have lived in a relatively large city, attend hospital fasting programs, psychologists especially for eating, have liposuction several times and never, ever heard of this surgery until I was 46 years old? How did this happen? Guest guest
Bob C.(Sog) here, I will be 55 in a week and a half, had rny 6/6/97, went from 367 to 185 in about a year and have maintained it since.Just throwing in my 2 cents worth. This is the best thing that I ever done but I couldn't have done it any earlier because I don't think I would have had the desperation that I finally had. This was suggested to me by my PCP two years before I had the operation but went over my head, When I got to the point where my stand up time was down to 5 minutes and my ability to earn a living had me concerned he suggested it again and this time I heard it through different ears. Thanks Sog (Bob) Sog@... Re: baron speaketh: psychological changes From: RAltman813@... Hey , It took me until I was 54! Oh to have had this surgery 20 years ago! I think I had a similar experience. Not that my PCP suggested it (I had known about wls for years, and had a college friend in the 70's who lost a lot of weight with one of the old intestinal bypasses), but that it took me years to get to the point where I really didn't have any choice. At >400 lbs I couldn't walk to the end of the block without getting exhausted (plus the hypertension, sleep apnea, joint pain, etc). It wasn't until I was 42 that I finally began to think about wls as an option for *me*. So in some ways it would have been nice to do it years ago, but in point of fact I just hadn't developed to the necessary point until last year. Guest guest
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm 175 emails behind. Not really but a week ago I found the scale to be 187 so I joined the y and that fixed that plus from reading these emails I decided to start drinking protein drinks and the two put together I'm not that over whelming hungry anymore > RE: baron speaketh: psychological changes > > > From: RAltman813@... > > SOG: > > Congrats!
