Guest guest
And so it is! That's why I double checked with my doc. They don't GIVE B12 if your numbers are up as high as mine! I tried once before. But no, not if you numbers are safe. I only know of a very few of our doctor's patients who take B12 in any form at all. All but one are low-proteiners. They think they can get protein from food, hence they stay too low in everything. Mind you, we're all distals, so we really cannot get protein from food. Carolyn! Wake up! Explain this thing, OK? Why some need it, some don't? I know Jan and some of the others worry about me, so I need good hard medical fact to reassure them that I am a lab-aholic and don't do any guesswork! I study 'em myself, not even trusting the medical staff to catch everything! I REALLY appreciate your concern, which is why when I see my doc on Wed, I'll ask the question another way to see if I get a clearer answer. For now, though, my labs show me midrange. I did come down from sky high to midrange, but have parked here for eons now. HUGS for caring so much! ** No matter what my mail says in the " from " , please reply to me at: vitalady@... ** Thanks! Guest guest
I have been reading some previous posts regarding B-12. I'm a little confused. Some say we have to have it and others say if we have had the open RNY, it won't do us any good. Any accurate info would be appreciated. I'm trying to get everything together that I'm going to need after surgery. Guest guest
Hi B-12 is one of the vitamins I am required to take as a post-op, in addition to a complete multi-vitamin (I do Centrum Chewables), calcium citrate and Iron (ferrous fumerate (sp?) with intrinsic factor. Hope this helps And sending smiles Caroline Lap RNY 5/2/03 367/310/150 www.tinyurl.com/bkld > I have been reading some previous posts regarding B-12. I'm a little confused.
