Guest guest
I am interested to hear from anyone who has had bilateral resurfacing done in the same operation. I am looking at having this done for OA and from most of the posts I have read here the majority either only had one hip done or both done but in separate operations. What was it like post-op as far as mobility? , crutches or wheelchair? I have read that they get you out of bed as soon as possible but with both hips being done how do you weight bear that early? What was the rehab like and how long did it take before full weight bearing / physical activity? I am a large man at 6'2 " tall weighing 250lbs so I have been told that a bilateral surgery is out of the question unless I can drop a lot of weight but physical activity for me is very limited. About 1 hour in the grocery store is the most walking I can handle before my back and hips don't want to cooperate anymore. I want to get myself into better shape to help with the recovery from sugery and rehab to get me back to work as a police officer since I have already been off work for 2 months. Any information would be much appreciated. Take care all, Mike.
Guest guest
Mike, I symaphise with you! i need to loose a lot of weight also. I am 5ft 8 " and weigh in at 200lbs, i just lost about 16 pounds in the last 5 weeks using a nice herbal product called STACKER 2. In europe its hard to find, but its very popular in bodybuilding stores in the USA. Its apparently a herbal alternative to this drug you americans use called XENECAL..whichj has many side effects. I understand that one reason that they get you walking 1 0r 2 days post op is to let some weight compress the cement that they use to do the fittings... there is only so much pressure they can apply in the theatre with a rubber hammer.... keep us informed, best regards, richie _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
