Hi ,

Sorry for the late response and glad some others were able to help. You

markers, if I read them correctly don't appear to be bad and as others have

said, they really don't mean much. Here are my labs that led up to being

listed: 190 in 9/00, 146 in 3/01, 257 on 8/14/01, 296 on 8/29/01. My tx

team requested an ERCP with brushings and a PET scan. The GI said he was

certain I had cancer but the brushings were inconclusive as was the PET

scan. My tx team appealed to UNOS and I was transplanted 4 weeks later.

They brought in a back-up recipient just in case I had cancer in or around

the bile duct since they cannot (prefer not to) tx when CC is present.

Turns out I didn't have cancer. Given your meld score, I certainly

wouldn't think the " possibility " of having cancer based on an unreliable,

not to mention, minimally elevated, CA19-9 marker.

Hope the information is helpful and they make the right decision and list

you

A link is provided that outlines the PET scan.
