Thank you >> we were all talking about this just the other day. you can check some previous posts. i am not losing weight either. i think i retain a lot of fluid and also when you cut back and diet a lot of times your body adjusts to burn less fat & retain what you had - your metabolism slows down. karyn has a lot more info on all that. by the way - welcome! debbie

Now I just want to feel good and lose weight. I have not lost one ounce. They say forget about it. I want to lose weight. Most people with Pancreatitis lose weight. No one will explain to me why or offer answers. Has anyone out there had this same problem. >> Hi , This issue has been bothering me a lot lately. I said the same thing about the fact that everybody else gets to loose weight, but me. That wasn't fair. I gained weight since I was diagnosed, but this TPN has added another 30 pounds. people say I carry it well. Big deal. The only explanation I can find is that the Pancreas, being an endocrine organ, has really messed up the proper functioning of my metabolism. It just doesn't know what to do with the food (oral or TPN). I am calling my GI tomorrow and tell him, I want to try to stop the TPN and see about eating. But, the same thing happened before the TPN, I would eat nothing and not lose an ounce. I don't get it either. Karyn
Guest guest
HI, I DON'T HAVE AS SERIOUS A CASE OF THIS DISEASE AS MANY OF YOU HAVE. BUT, I CAN'T KEEP WEIGHT ON. I KEEP LOSING A ABOUT 1 OR 2 LBS. A MONTH. MY DOCTOR DOESN'T KNOW WHY. BUT I ALMOST HAVE NO APPETITE, ITHINK IT IS FROM THE NAUSEA PILLS AND THE PAIN PILLS. RIGHT NOW I'D BE HAPPY IF I COULD JUST STOP LOOSEING. LYNNEAR
