Guest guest
De: One of the best things about lipo and tummy tucks is the way they make clothes fit and the way they make you feel. I had it all during previous weight losses, not since WLS. But the benefits gained from having it done back then have come through now that I've lost weight again. I am 190 and size 34 jeans are *almost* too big. After I regained the weight, I thought they were a waste, but now I'm glad I had them done. I could use some wrinkle removal on the stomach but just don't have the energy to go through much again for a while. Guest guest
told me 50 mg of protein is not enough and someone said their doc said water has nothing to do with washing out the pouch. Since said this about protein I have been trying to find a supplement in food (example, soy nuts) or other and it is really hard to fine. Most protein supplements are so expensive for so little grams... Jan C. 3-11-98 RNY wt gain The stabilized weight depends on the type of surgery you had. Since I had a distal, I stabilized at the low end of my wt range. My low wt was 104 (I was hoping to break 100) and I stabilized at 112 or so. But then, I still follow the plan my doctor uses, no milk, no sugar, no grazing, no drinking with meals, lots of protein, water & vites. I keep EXPECTING to gain back another 20 lbs as most of my contemporaries (1993, 1994, 1995) did. But the other thing is that they all got casual about the " rules " and take about only half their protein! The few I know who are stable at the bottom also still follow the above. I know the " rules " are different for each of us, and not all surgeries will result in 100% wt loss. Sticking with good eating & good nutrition will help everyone stay put and at a reasonable size. I don't DIET, but there always WERE some foods I didn't eat. I certainly don't feel as restricted as I did when I dieted every day, all day (except binge days)! So, for you guys who are still floating around and wondering where you'll stop and when, all I can say is to keep doing what you see other successful people doing. Avoiding sugars, no grazing, not drinking with meals, making sure your intake does include the full range of nutritional needs. In short, what they used to call " sensible eating " when it never worked for us before. The difference is that with the tool we've been given, we now at least stand a fighting CHANCE at normalcy, huh? *** PLEASE USE NEW EMAIL ADDY BELOW*** Thanks! vitalady@... www.vitalady.com
Guest guest
I have a great protein drink - 30 gms of protein, No carbs, no fat, 120cals - comes in choc, van, straw and orange flavors. Called Super ProMax. Made by MaxMuscle. I get it through the internet at www.maxmuscle.com or you can get it at 1-. It is very reasonably priced. - 4 lb container is $35ish. I use the orange flavor and mix it in crystal - light or occassionally orange juice or grapefruit juice. yummy. Guest guest
I wonder if you would mind giving me more info on the tummy tuck. How much, how painful, is it worth it, etc. I have considered having one after I finish paying for my RNY. I am at 118 lbs and don't think I will lose much more. Is there a " time frame " for a tummy tuck? I am totally in the dark about this procedure. Thanks, Tricia in MS Re: wt gain > > >De: > >One of the best things about lipo and tummy tucks is the way they make >clothes fit and the way they make you feel. Guest guest
HI how long did it take you to get to 104? I just hit my one year and for some odd reason all of a sudden about a week before the year anniv. all the diet mentality stuff smacked me up side the head. I had hoped to be 130 by that year mark and have hovered at 136 for what seemed like months - the last three months it took me to get from 140-136. to top it off, my one year hit at the same time as my pms which means no weight loss that week or 10 days - my body has been like this since post op week 3 - I don't lose anything for those 7-10 days and typically will go up 2-3 pounds. anyhow, with the water weight gain and the not reaching my expected goal at one year I got all freaked out I guess you could say - I knew why I didn't drop another pound or two and I hope when this period is over and I weigh that it does go down a little, but I just started evaluating and thinking what if it was over - my 12 months was up and this was it. I really would like to get those last 6 pounds off and even 5 more. I hear so many stories about people regaining 15 - if I gained that much I'd have to buy new 'bigger' clothes. anyhow, I haven't been much for regular or routine exercise, I did better in the summer and swam frequently, I go in spurts and walk and then don't....... so I just signed up for a 5 week stint at the health club with one session each week with the personal trainer. I start next week when I get back from Florida [i leave tomorrow] I hope this jump starts the scale but I also know that muscle weighs more than fat and the scale may go in the wrong direction! that will be a hard one to swallow I think. I'm just wondering if that so called window of opportunity so many folks talk about could be closed at 12 mo. I guess it's possible if my body thinks it's at the right place. I could stand to drink more water, don't know if that would make a whole hell of a lot of difference but it could. sue wt gain Sue, I lost all my weight, right down to 104 lbs.. I thought it was oh-so-cool. My goal had been 125. NO such thing as too thin for me! As it happened, I went into protein deficiency and gained 6 lbs. in 6 hrs. Whoa! During the treatment for the deficiency, I gained a bit more, up to 118. After I got done flopping around, I parked at 112 and stayed here. Good enough, I think! ** please reply to me at: vitalady@... ** Thanks! www.vitalady.com
