Guest guest
Just wondered if anyone out there is using Dr. Cave now because of Dr. Holmes leaving. Any big differences in approach or anything? She must be super busy with all the new patients. Thank you. (My son used to see Dr. Holmes.) Guest guest
Hi Meg, just to add that I think that Dr Cave, from our experience is more definite about what she recommends that Dr Holmes was and follows a more rigid protocol, ie - 8 hourly chelation versus 4 hourly, and she also does not believe in mixing chelation protocol with the MT promotor. Amy Holmes agreed that we could alternate both protocols on seperate weekends with our son and was quite flexible about agreeing to our wish to keep the doses DMSA/ALA low, when we switched to Dr Cave, I got a messsage saying that we needed to stop chelation while we were doing the MT promotor - she felt it was unsafe to do both together. So there are definate differences in their approach. I have never tried to negotiate directly with Dr Cave about these protocols so don't know how flexible she is. (I haven't stop chelating though - still low dose) I saw her myself when my kids had a/p's with Amy Holmes and I thought Dr Cave was a wonderful caring doctor - she helped me put a preventative health care plan together which was nice - first thing she recommended was removal of my amalgams followed by chelation. Hope that is helpful, Kathy Message: 25 Date: Sun, 19 Jan 2003 02:12:13 -0000 From: " sleeplessinsrc <michae_d@...> " <michae_d@...> Subject: Re: 2nd try: Switch from Holmes to Cave? Hi Meg, My son was also a patient of Dr. Holmes. We have not seen a new Doc yet. I think Dr. Cave has a long waiting list so we are debating going to another Doc or making the appointment and going along on our merry way until we can see her. I am trying to get my son's new Ped. to do some stuff with us as he is amenable, but he is not real knowledgeable. I have heard that Dr. Cave is somewhat different in her approach than Dr. Holmes but don't know any specifics.
