Guest guest
Becky, Kayla, As soon as the weather dropped and it went below freezing, my pain levels kicked in, and I got a fibro flare, and got shingles. I never have had them : ) Very painful I told my husband I will be under my electric blanket and have the fireplace going. It seems the heat from the fireplace is so soothing to me and my dogs lie around me while I was lying on the floor and the cat got in also. We are not skinny family ! Of course, I was squashed up but it was so wonderful and watched old movies on the Classic Channel as they usually have happy endings. This is the life. Loving dogs and escaping to the forties and fifties. I would be Ingrid Bergman my husband says- Who would you be ? I am curious to know . It may only work for a few minutes or so but that's a few minutes off the 24 hours. > > In my case, if I don't take care of my dog, there is no one else. He is very patient with me and will stare lovingly at me and make small whining sounds until I put one foot then the other off the bed and take him to the door to do his business. Guest guest
Probably Glenn Close. Not '50's but my type. I agree the dry heat from fire is wonderful for sore joints. Not at all the same as a furnace. We put in a gas heater than cooks the house much better than the electric furnace ever did. Guest guest
Bennie, Wish I could see you and your animal friends all huddled together under that electric blanket! It reminds me of a story I read to my little ones--perhaps you've read it---The Mitten (where all the animals keep piling in until the mitten bursts! Anyway, today was a less painful day but I was so ready to see my bed when I got off work. It is so nasty cold and raining here. You asked me who I would be from the 40's/50's? I guess I would have to say Jimmy ! I like his good nature and sweetness even when things around him are shattering. That's what I strive for even if most days I don't make it. Christmas is coming in just a few days now. My best gift is my daughter coming home from LA. I haven't seen her in a year so am excited to hug her. I warned her that my health has declined so it won't be such a shock that I spend a lot of time in bed. She's only able to be with me for 1 week so I plan on using every ounce of my energy to enjoy her company. I hope the rest of you are also fortunate to have someone special you will get to enjoy sometime over the holidays. I know it will be a great pain reducer; just hope I'm not too depressed when it's time for her to leave me for another year.
