I lost my younger sister March 11, suddenly. They found a brain tumor

the size of a ping pong ball in her brain. Not even her! I'm angry because I

don't feel

she should have been left to make a decision like this herself.

I was so devested, that I went into a full blown Pancreatitis attack. In the

meantime, My teeth became infected, I guess the diabetes flared up pretty

badly.

No one gives a damn. I've been through hell over the years.

a,

That is an awful lot to be going through at one time. There are so many

issues here. What is interesting is how interconnected all of them are. I

have experienced Pancreatitis from an emotional trauma as well. I don't think

there is anything odd about it. It has been known for years that the mind,

body, and soul are interconnected.

I am so very sorry that you have lost your sister. It is important to forgive

her, as I am sure she had reasons important to her for not sharing her

situation. I praise God that He did not make her suffer as those of us who

have Pancreatitis. I know she is in heaven and praying for you.

I didn't know the relationship between Diabetes and dental problems. And I

don't understand why they would want to take out you teeth when they are

fine. Maybe you could explain it sometime.

Remember that many people do care about you and love you very much. I am so

glad that you feel comfortable to share your pain with us, emotional and

physical.

a, I am so sorry for your loss. My younger sister died several

years ago 2 weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer. It was

devastating! I had my first major bout of what we thought was

gall bladder disease 2 or 3 months after my sister's death.

6 months after that, I had the first attack of chronic pancreatitis

which has now been going on for about 8 or 9 years. The doctors

say it probably is from pancreas divisum, but the timing is kind

of weird (why did a congenital problem wait 50 years to act up?).

I'm sorry for your grief. Its really tough not to have any chance

to say goodbye. Please accept all our condolences.

a,

I am so sorry for your loss. I totally understand your feeling of

no one caring. It is like you are just another patient and your pain

doesn't matter or the fact that you are feeling like hell doesn't matter

either.

I will pay for some relief for you.......All of us here care for you

and what you are dealing with. Hang in there. *hug*

Hi a,

It sounds like you are having pretty hard. Try to stay positive and keep the

faith. I know it gets hard sometimes when it seems like everything hits all

at once. I will offer up a special prayer for you. I'm still on my TPN and

an end to it is nowhere in sight. GOD BLESS!

a,

I too suffer from gum disease due to the diabetes I now have from having

pancreatitis. While I have not lost many teeth as of now, I have already

been told that I should get them all removed now because of the infection I

am pumping into my body. I have a problem, however, with removing " healthy "

teeth. Like you, I don't have any cavities and none of my teeth are

currently loose or in danger of coming out. I do suffer from periodic

abscesses and sinus infections when the infection spreads. I also suffer

from ear infections that are extremely painful to bear. This is just another

one of the hidden effects of this disease. We all talk about the obvious

pain and nausea associated with having acute or chronic pancreatitis but we

never hear of the other affects this disease has on our bodies.

Does this apply to anyone else in our group? Just curious.

Andre',

although I don't have pancreatitis I am diabetic. I was diagnosed after an

accident when I was 19 years old, Lord knows how long I had it before being

diagnosed. However nearly 20 years later I am experiencing similar symptoms

as you are with your teeth, gum and sinus infections. I was told by my Endo

and dentist to have my teeth (healthy) removed. I'm so difficult for me to

do this as I have a nearly perfect smile and always took very good care of my

teeth. Besides the thousands of dollars Mom spent on braces. Recently I've

noticed my gums becoming very sensitive and bleeding after I brush. Not all

my teeth and gums, just the front ones. As time goes on I'm beginning to

have more and more bleeding and they have become infected. So naturally I was

put on Penicillin and told to take Tylenol. Well, that's not cutting it

anymore and I'm having 6 teeth removed by an Oral Surgeon once Mom is feeling

better and is out of the hospital.

Now that reality is hitting I'm realizing I can be a candidate for

pancreatitis, with diabetes and Mom having chronic I have a good chance of

developing it myself. I'm going to see a GI speicalist to see if there is

anyway I can prevent it early. Caring for Mom and reading what all of you

wonderful people are going though makes me a little paranoid. I have to be

well to care of Mom and hopefully meet some of you great people I've met here

in this support group. Thanks for listening. God Bless, Your're all in my

heart and prayers.. *

a,

Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time of it lately. Hang in

there, we are all praying for you. I do have some questions for you. What

is the " Aphuerisis " you referred to in your message to us? Is this a

treatment to alleviate pain for pancreatic sufferers? Is this something we

should all be looking into? Any info you can supply to the group on this

would be greatly appreciated and may be helpful to some of us in the future.
