Guest guest
hI kARYN, AFEW QUESTIONS: my dr. said that I should take the ercp test but whenever I felt like it..the possible sideeffect of acute pancreatitis has jkept me from taking it. Should I go ahead and take it, maybe I'm just putting it off because I'm afraid. I stopped taking my enzymes because I stopped running to the bathroom so I thought ok I must be in remission I still have some nausea and very little pain. The dr. said I was stabilized so do the rest of you take the enzymes no matter what? Thanks Lynnear

Guest guest
Hi Lynne, I don't take the enzymes because I found out early on that they didn't do much good. I have IBS too and I find I got more constipation when on the enzymes. Marie
Guest guest
I am not so sure that by not taking your enzymes that you are doing the right thing. Those enzymes help your pancreas, by not having to work so hard. If your pancreas is damaged it may not be able to produce enough of the enzymes. This may help the pancreas to not have to work as hard. Taking the enzymes may help to reduce or limit the amount of acute attacks.

I take my enzymes whenever I ingest food, no matter what the quantity or type of meal. Andre'
Guest guest
Thank you for answering. I'm at what the Docor says is stabilized for awhile. He doesn't know how long it will last. Now I just ghave nausea and some pain. But, Im not nearly as ill as some of you are. But the Doctor says I will get worse. Si, I guess I'll start taking enzymes again. He didn't know that I had stopped talkiing them. Caregiver of the year is my very special husbnd who wen through of a year of hell with me until I was diagnosed and then stabilized by enzymes. We've been married for 45 years and he has been wonderful. He doesn't expect me to do anything and when I feel good I do everyhing until I am too tired. When that happends he just does everything. I'm truly lucky. Lynnear
Guest guest
Lynnear, Two thumbs up for wonderful husbands! I am also one of those truly lucky women!!! Although my husband is a newby! We have only been married 10 mos. They say the first year is the hardest! He says the rest of our life should be a breeze! He too has been by my side through this very long ordeal.
