Guest guest
We got the calls here in Michigan, but told them we would not give them that our ordering person was out. We were unable to get any identifying information and I believe caller ID showed an unavailable number. Guest guest
Well we had a call from these people a while back. The secretary who got the call transferred the call to me after getting suspicious. The lady purported to be the firm designated to supply and support " that big high speed printer you have. " When I asked her which bprinter she was talking about, she told me " the one you have in that printer room with the 2 or 3 other printers. " I played along with her scam, thinking that as long as I kept her on the phone she was not scamming anyone else. She wanted the model and serial number of the printer and I told her it was on the other side of the building and I didn't have it at hand. After stringing her along for 20 minutes of so, I then told her that I knew this was a scam and she was not going to get any info from me. I told her that we had traced the call and knew exactly where she was calling from. She seemed unfazed by this, and told me " Well I'll just have my boss call to get the information I need. " I told her that he's better have more information than she did if he wants to get any information from me, then told her that our city IMS Dept. purchases all of that stuff for us. she got upset and hung up on me.... I just love messing with telemarketers, especially criminal ones!!! Terry-Davenport IA. PD
Guest guest
What they try to do is get any name, then they send some off-quality, over-priced product and a bill. If the bill doesn't get paid, they say it was orderd by whomever's name they get and threaten to turn the account over for collection unless the bill gets paid. At least that is the version I know about. Randy Mace
Guest guest
We had a similar incident at the P.D. a few years ago where we were shipped cases of unordered latex exam gloves that we did not order. When it was discovered, we refused to pay the bill and refused to ship them back until they sent a UPS call tag for them.
