New rules for our City include: naming specific illness of family member when taking time off for illness in family; requiring dr's excuse irregardless of number of days off (presently 3 or more days; specific description of illness; if not satisfied with dr.'s diagnosis, can require an examination by another dr. In all, there are now 8 pages for sick leave policy. Union rep would like to make comparisons with other departments. Flu, colds, etc... Guess they want you to come to work and pass whatever you have around to your coworkers.... Dang, maybe I'm the only one that DOESNT go to the docotor EACH AND EVERY time I'm ill. Really intrested about the family side of it - none of the company business, and I agree with the otyher reply, dont feel good or just need a stress day - want a dr note???
