Guest guest
, I'm not the expert and this just my own experience, but I was never told to take calcium supplements until I was dx with PSC. That leads me to believe that calcium depletion is a result of poor liver function vs malabsorption issue in the intestines. I had UC, pretty severe for several years, for 12 years and calcium supplements was never discussed - I never researched UC and haven't looked at Larry's link yet so I very well may be mistaken. I was told to take calcium supplements when I was dx with PSC. A bone density scan was done to check for osteoporosis and repeated just before tx. I would check with the herpetologist just to be on the safe side. Darin
