[ ] Re: Strep antibodies! need your help

With all the strep talk on the boards lately I just had a sinking

feeling that Ethan has been exposed recently! And then to get the

lab results back... ugh! Here are some natural things that were

suggested by a mom on a different board:

* OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT - BY THE PAPERBACK BOOK " OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT " by

Dr. Morton amazon.com 3mls x 3 times per day with plenty fluids

and vitamin C.

* VIRGIN COCONUT OIL - book by Bruce Fife 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon

per day (child)

* Grapefruit Seed Extract ( some bugs and bacteria)

* LAURICIDIN

* ORGANIC GARLIC

Virus's and bacteria-- Virgin coconut oil & Olive Leaf extract

I am undecided as to doing the antibiotic injection at this point--

the illness was a few weeks ago. The info on the net is conflicting--

some say do the antibio and some say don't bother. I just don't know

what to think and am hoping to draw on the experiences of the parents

on these boards to help me make a decision.

Hi All-- Ethan's lab report came back and he tested positive for

strep antibodies... so now what? Ack! We have an appt to see his doc

on Weds a.m.-- so what type of antibio should I request-- prefer to

go with an injection vs. gut... PLEASE post or email me if you have

info on this!

Ethan's ped was unaware of PANDAS (or at least did not recognize that

acronym) so we are starting from scratch here.

HOMEOPATHY cures strep

Make life easy on yourself instead of all of these contortions.

So he has a sore throat? What?

, what exactly was the test? did they draw blodd foe the

antibodies or did they do a throat swab and then put antibodies on

the smear of the swab? The latter is a rapid test for detecting

strep, they use antibodies from many sources that bind with strep for

the ability to test if strep is present, that has a totally different

meaning than if Ethans own blood had antibodies (ASO usually)

circulating against strep. A positive ASO titer means that Ethan has

been exposed to strep and the body is trying to fight it.

Unfortunately the timing of when the exposure took place is not an

exact science. If someone had PANDAS, they would have an elevated

blood anti-strep antibody level and probablely a negative throat swab-

If you son is well with a positive blood test he probablely doesn't

need any antibiotics and of course if the swab was positive there are

non-antibiotic alternatives as Sheri pointed out-- In Autism-

My opinion:

Step can lead to an extremely dangerous condition. If not treated

on time it can lead to heart problems later in life and could

ultimatly result in heart failure.

When ever my son tested positive for strep we had it treated with an

aitbiotic injection because it is very difficult to get him to

voluntarily take his medicine. I also think that an injection might

be easier on his gut. We always followed with probiotic

supplementation imediately afterward.

We also just treated strep with a penicillin injection with no bad

response (except the pain from the injection). We are constantly

fighting yeast issues. I did not see any flare of gut issues

afterwards. I was always told that strep could lead to serious

complications if left untreated.

Rarely

Antibiotics are not inoccuous injected......just don't affect the gut, but

adversely affect the immune system

Homeopathic treatment works nicely.

It is individualized as all homeopathic treatment is

You don't ahve one remedy for one allpathic diagnosis

The homeopath looks at the whole picture - what makes your child/you unique

- what symptoms are being exhibited

A hundred people could have strep but would exhibit different symptoms

Your sore throat is different than the next persons

one person likes warm drinks

one is hot and sweaty another cold and chilly

one wants to be held and another screams and pushes everything away

EVERYTHTING about the person determines which remedy

Belladonna is one that often fits the picture, but it is only one and won't

help if it doesn't match

http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/homeo.htm

is an article I wrote about how a homeopath works

That is why I teach a class to teach people how to figure the remedies out

for acute things for themselves, but you have to learn how. It isn't this

remedy for this disease like drugs and herbs are.
