Guest guest
hello " charles4747, > Can anyone explain, or point me to a file or a particular posting, > that shows the difference between Andy's chelation protocol and the > DAN! protocol? well, this may depend on what aspect you are looking for. You can find a summary version of Andy's protocol here: /files/Andy_dose_sched As noted, in that file, it is significantly missing supplements, but there are links to more info on that. Use of supplements is definately part of his scheme. You can find the DAN protocol here: http://www.autism.com/ari/mercuryconsensus.html You can find Andy's commentary on the differences, here: /files/ANDY_INDEX Look in the section that is about " keeping a steady level of cheltion agents and " bad " protocols " , then look for items about " DAN " . There are a couple items that are currently in green text that are very thorough. I think one or more of them was just posted by , also. You can also search the page (in ANDY_INDEX) for the word DAN if you want to find more. The most major and notable differences, to my mind are: 1. dose timing (this being the infamous difference) 2. dose amounts 3. DAN includes some random use of sulfur supplements, I think There are other differences of viewpoint, I believe, as well, but these are the most notable, in my mind. > Did Dr. Amy Holmes use Andy's protocol? I saw that she > is quoted on one of the FAQ files for this listserv. I know she was a > DAN! doctor when she was practicing.... Well, I don't know all of the aspects of things that Dr. Amy did or did not do, and I don't want to give a blanket answer because of that. But, she did use and recommend 4 hour dosing (including at night) at first (or early on) in her practice, from what I've heard. She later stopped recommending this routinely, from what I've heard, but still **allowed** parents who wanted to use it to do so. Then again, I have also heard that she sometimes/often recommended it for younger kids. I'm not sure exactly. I think it is safe to say she used 4-hour dosing more early on and less later on, but was also flexible about it. She wrote on this list at one time--- pretty early on. You can go back (waaaaay back) and find her posts, if you are adequately motivated. There are links to a very few of her posts, in these files: /files/HOW_TO_hair_test /files/LOVE_LETTERS best wishes, Moria
