Can't say that we have that many. Most of ours are called in over the radio

by the officer themselves. Our portables also have emergency buttons, so we

do have our share of " oopsies " in that area, but few calls from civillians.

Uncommon by phone......the few I can remember, tho, have all been founded.

We get people who see an officer doing a report and think he is slumped over

his steering wheel, but, as far as I know, there has never been one saying

an officer was shot since I've been working there. Mostly just apparently

empty patrol cars or officers " slumped " (doing reports.)

It seems that these unfounded calls are a New York City kind of thing;

aren't we lucky.. I guess the flashing lights and sirens must be like

having the circus come to the neighborhood. I am sure the pissed-off

looks on the PO's faces must add to the amusement.
