Guest guest
Hi all, I was recently changed from Phenergan to Zofran to treat my nausea. I have been soooo pleased with it. Zofran has very side effects, as well. Ask your doctor about it. It may work better for you, too. Guest guest
It is difficult to be out there with adult kids who think you are the hardiest of grandmothers and really do not want to know how sick their parents are because it b\woould remind them of the mortailty of their parents and themselves. I know because I have told them and it is like they didn't really listen Lynne

Most places will give you a large enough salad that you will have something to do through the dinner. Usually, desserts contain far too much fats to be tolerated so I avoid them. Just another suggestion if you want to still go out with your family to dinner. Andre'
Guest guest
<< Every morning for the past week I am nauseaous when I wake up and it takes me about 3 hours to get over it. >> I felt like this too. I am about 7 months post op now and I still get a little nauseous in the morning or if I go too long without food. Just keep sipping your water and that bad taste with water will go away. Also eat little bits of food to see if that helps to settle you stomach. Keep us posted. Guest guest
, Have you been taking vitamins and potassium? If your potassium is low, you could have symptoms such as this! Guest guest
Caroline, I'm taking 2 Flintstone Complete Vitamins a day which is the only vitamin my doctor allows me to have. Woke up this morning and the nausea is only a little bit (less than usual). I guess I'll just have to ask my surgeon on Monday and live with it until then. Thanks for the heads up about the potassium thing. in TX Re: Nausea , Have you been taking vitamins and potassium? If your potassium is low, you could have symptoms such as this! Guest guest
, I had my surgery 6/6/03 and I am right there with you! Although my nausea in the morning doesn't sound quite as bad as yours. Where I use to be able to sleep for 10-12 hours now I find I am up after only 6 or 7 and not quite up to my game. I have found that if I just sip on milk I feel alot better. But milk might not work for you as alot of people become lactose intolerant. I cannot eat anything solid yet (except for a scrambled egg) either. I have been eating an egg now for 3 weeks. I wasn't suppose to until last week but I talked to my surgeon because right after the surgery I was REALLY feeling nauseated (not quite enought to throw up), but it was soooo depressing and I kept fantasizing about a scrambled egg....so my Doc. gave in and said I could try one and see if I could keep it down. Let me tell you, I felt 100% better after I began eating eggs. I felt normal for the first time. Although, when I 1st tried the egg I could only eat 5 tiny bites and I was full! LOL Hope it gets better for you! It will! Hang in there! RaeShel;O) > Okay, maybe it's just me, hopefully not though. Guest guest
Hi The other other thing you might want to try is eating a banana. If you are in the liquids phase still, you can blend it in with a shake or some skim milk. Hope you are feeling better soon! Caroline Lap RNY 5/2/03 367/315/150 (the scale is really moving this week!
