Andy did a sleep study when he was about 20 because the house shook when he

slept - his snoring kept the rest of us awake. When visiting grandma a the

summer cabin, he was " banished " to her bedroom because she snored too and

they couldn't hear each other at night :-)

The results showed that he did not have periods of sleep apnea, but he did

snore - that was confirmed :-) The doc recommended a Bi-Pap machine so he

tried it. Andy went along with the Bi-pap for about 2 months but he was

miserable - he got hot and sweaty under the mask and it was difficult to

move in bed. He didn't want to continue. We didn't feel we could force

him - he doesn't even know what snoring is - much less hear it! He was

essentially using the Bi-Pap for everyone else in the house, so he quit.

Ironically, he hasn't been snoring since. Could the bi-pap opened up his

airway?? Maybe he outgrew those potentially large adenoids???? Who knows!

Just a strange story, isn't it?
