<< Please feel free to tell me your stories. I need all the info I can

get. >>

Hi everyone,

I hear this sooooo often. I still am recruiting your personal stories to

publish in my book. My hope is that I can receive a story from each potential

cause of this disease. I will help anyone and provide grammatical editing as

needed.

Another thing that would be helpful for others and easier on yourself is if

you do write " your story, " have it saved and then when a newcomer joins it

will be available to send to them.

Just a thought. But, seriously, each and every one of you have so much to

offer to another. Your stories share what no one else can.

Hi Karyn,

Thank you for the nice welcome. It is good to know that someone else knows

what I am going through. I have been misdiagnosed for soo long. This group

will help me a lot.

I go the Beth Isreal Hospital in Boston MA. It has a pancreas center and the

doctor there also know a lot about CF so it works out well. I will tell you

my story soon. It is so long it will take me a while.

It's interesting that you go to Beth Israel. Their website provided

quite a bit of information regarding pancreatitis & procedures. Lucky for

you to have such a fine facility to go to.

I too have spent a tremendous amount of time in the Boston area seeking help

for my illness. Dr Warshaw, at Massachusetts General Hospital, was my

surgeon and I am certain that I can get him to recommend me to Beth Israel's

Pancreas Center. Since time off from work is not a concern, I'd appreciate

any info you can give to me on this center.

Hi and Welcome:

Let me start off by saying my heart goes out to you and Jim. You both will

be in my prayers. Since I've joined this group I have gained support from

those whose stories are much more horrific than mine. It sounds like Jim has

been through hell, but he has never given up hope, that's important.

Pancreatitis can be an unpredictable disease, so the secret is to always

expect the worse. If the worse doesn't happen then it makes you feel a lot

better. It is very important for you to stay strong and positive as Jim is

doing. It's hard enough with him being the one that's sick all the time, but

to see you suffer too is hard. I know, because everytime I have a bad

flare-up I see my husband thinking what if? I just take it all in stride. I

have suffered from this disease since 93, some times have been worse than

others. There were times where I got frustrated and wouldn't even go to the

Dr. I was a silent sufferer. Now I know better. Do you and Jim have any

children? This illness will also take a toll on them. Always be upfront and

let them know there is life outside pancreatitis. Remember to make life more

than hospitals and Dr. appts. because it really is. If Jim has any good

days, make the most of them. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH :)

Marie
