Kuwait has a 9-1-1 board?

I'll add my stamp of credibility here. Jeremie and company are indeed

legitimate. FYI, they are working for a government contractor providing the

service

(that may be the reason for no gov't e-mail) of dispatching. We should be very

proud that there are 3 9-1-1 professionals over there helping to keep the camp

safe.

We wish them well!

- you are suprised they got the dispatchers before the dispatch center?

Remember, this is a gov't that is sending reserve units over there without

bullet proof vests. I'm just happy that Jeremie and company got anything when

they arrived!

I do agree though that it will be quite an accomplishment if they get a CAD

and maybe not really a good expense. Pen and paper make more sense. It's hard

to bug out running with a 17 inch monitor on your back and a domore chair

strapped to ur fanny :)

I had the same question...and more.

Why would the US Government put three people with little to no

experience in charge of such a task?

What is your rank, and that of the other two people involved?

What is the time line for completion? 9-1-1 Centers aren't built in a

matter of weeks, or even months.

Why aren't you required to get bids for the equipment? I thought that

was standard operating procedures for the military.

What branch of the service is this?

Why would they wait until you are actually in Kuwait to put such a

plan in action?

Does Kuwait have a " 9-1-1 " system already in existence that you'll be

tapping into, or will you be starting from scratch? If they already

have one, what emergency number do they use?

Who is in charge of addressing all the tents, or other temporary

facilities the solders will be in? How do they plan giving an address

to the people in the field who are sleeping on sand?

If, in fact, this is legitimate, why aren't you using a government

email address?

Who exactly is on this " 9-1-1 " board?

Sorry if I sound cynical (okay, I'm really not), but I have great

misgivings about your email.

Here is a prime example of what the government does not have to follow in a

WAR ZONE area.

Kuwait is not a war zone but bet it has something to do with their

government providing the money and in

that case they don't have to follow the same rules as we do here.

just my 2 cents

I apologize to Jeremie and his partners...I guess this is a case of

truth being stranger than fiction.

Since this does seem to be legitimate, I must admit that I am excited

that real dispatchers are involved, but I have to wonder if it's not

like the pilots being asked to build the plane. They know what it

needs to be able to do, but have never had to actually make one.

Before anyone gets upset, I do NOT doubt their ability, I applaud

their willingness to do the project, and I'm impressed that they came

to their peers to ask for help. I just don't think it's fair to ask

them to accomplish this task in a short amount of time without the

proper training.

Good luck to you and your co-workers, Jeremie.

the first dispatcher over there was from montrose pd in

colorado..she was an active member on another site and i know from

being in a neighboring county that she worked at, that this group of

dipatchers are real..they are sharing in an adventure of building a

center from ground up and very brave to leave their jobs, family,

and friends..bj went at christmas time..but wanted the chance to do

this..

i know its been a long time since i posted..as being retired i like

to listen to the situations and all..i miss home back in colorado

and just hate to see this group of dedicated americans being

questioned..

i know the times are what they are but i am so proud to have been

associated with them as far as another site we are on togather goes..

hope this relieves some of your thoughts of who and what these

people are doing..

jo

formally of garco dispatch, garfield county colorado..
