Milk Thistle and Dandelion

I am relatively new to the group. My son-in-law has been diagnosed with psc after 8 months of extreme UC. I subscribed to the group to watch and listen and pass on info to my daughter as I see things that make sense. Sort of a clearing house as they are overwhelmed by so much at the moment.

He has been told there's not much that can be done so he has decided to go the other route and use "The Maker's Diet" to see if that can help. He has lost faith in most of the medical community as he's been to 4 doctors and all have different ideas and treatments, nothing with much hope attached.

He is using Primal Defense and FYI from the Garden of Life line of products and Milk Thistle and Dandelion from the Nutrilite line of products as of now. His arthritis symptoms that plagued him for several months have all but disappeared and he sleeps through the night (well except for trips to the potty) without pain.

I know no claim for a cure can be attributed to non-drugs per the FDA, but as heliosman2000 said, faith in the "established medical community" dwindles more and more each day.

I will continue to read and learn and wish everyone a Happy New Year and much good news in the coming year.

Hi ,

Welcome! Is your son-in-law’s UC under

control? I ask because if it isn’t

under control “The Maker’s Diet” could/might/may be pretty

hard on him. A friend of mine tried

it and said it gave his body a real work out – he couldn’t stay on

it – caused him all sorts of pain, cramping and gas.

What kinds of doctor’s

has he seen? What state does he

live in? Perhaps someone here can

recommend a good doctor.

Hello,

The UC in not completely controlled as he goes 5-7 times a day. (Down from 10, which is some improvement)

He lives in North Carolina and has been to 2 different GI specialists. I suggested a hepatologist next as that seemed what a lot of folks here recommended. Been watching, reading and learning for the past several weeks since his diagnosis. Information is my first step in supporting them as much as I can.

Any ideas from the group would be extremely appreciated !!!!

Thanks much,
