Guest guest
One of my dispatchers e-mailed me today (she does so fairly regularly, just to " keep [me] up to date with the gossip so won't be too far out of the loops when get back. " The part I simply HAD to share with y'all is this: " Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, I did the Xmas eve santa claus broadcast just for you. [specific Officer, by name] called in at about 1145 that night and asked who was doing it since you were not there. I told him " no one " . He was so very disappointed and then I thought of you getting so much pleasure out of that simple little brdcast that I decided to do it anyway. Thanks for writing it all out, made it much easier than to have to think of it by myself. Got a few chuckles from the patrolling units and the King City Sgt said he would be standing by at the county line with milk and cookies. " That pleases me on so many levels! I hope those that might consider a Santa BOL to be " unprofessional " can understand that there are " fun " things that can be handled over the air without dissolving into something less than appropriate. (Given circumstances, broadcast text and demeanor of delivery, as well as other radio traffic and incidents occurring at the same time. ) Happy to be here, proud to serve.
