Worse after Strep/Penicillin

Hi All,

We are seeing our daughter doing much worse in the last month. She had Strep

and we decided to wait but she seemed to really need the Penicillin. We put

her on a very short dose (7 days) and were and are religiously giving her

Culturelle, ProBioGold, and another. She gets at least 20 Billion a day in

organisms. Most days twice that. We had her on GSE (no more than 3 days at

a time with the No-Phenol) and caprylic acid and the oregano oil.

We finished Round 13 of her chelation with 25 and 25 mg of ALA/DMSA every 3

hours for 3 days. She had the worst time for the three days after. I assume

it was yeast or Clostridia (AGAIN?!). We gave her a rest this past weekend

and she got better but not to where she was. It is so heartbreaking.

She has been getting hypoglycemic much more often than her usual. If we feed

her every 3 hours she still gets hypoglycemic after 2 hours sometimes.

My husband went to her school today to observe and it was not a pretty

picture. She is in a regular classroom -- a private school for gifted kids.

It is a small class and the teacher is quite loving and caring. My husband

said she was stimming almost the whole time and wouldn't interact with the

other kids or the teacher unless she was prodded.

Is this just very bad gut bugs AGAIN? Or do you reach points in teh

chelation when it makes a turn like this. We had seen some good improvements.

Should I just chelate with ALA for a couple of weekends? Should I hit her

with the anti-fungal prescription medicines?

Any help would be great. By the way she takes the HNI enzymes and that seems

OK.

I'd suggest a lot more probiotics, mix up the brands (to get varied

organisms - you want gut resident human strain organisms), make sure

to use some of the HMF Forte probiotic stuff, 2 or 3 packets a day for

a week or two, and also look into diets like the specific carbohydrate

diet. This sounds a lot like a dysbiosis disaster.

Also, during dysbiosis the liver has to deal with tons of crud from

the bowel so doubling up on liver support may help. Activated

charcoal and bentoite clay help absorb the crud and carry it out so

the liver doesn't have to deal with it.

It is probably a good idea to feed her fiber, magnesium, etc. in high

enough amounts to ensure 2 or 3 bowel movements a day for a while.

This will help her gut move stuff out and get the dysbiosis under

control.

It sounds like youj haven't tried goldenseal. That is sometimes used

for dysbiosis. You could try diflucan for yeast, or nystatin, or if

you think it is clostridia you get to try some oral vancomycin. You

have to decide if you think you need this yet or if trying the stuff

above first might do it.

I'd hold the chelation for a week or two and see how things go.
