weight loss after surgery?

I've heard that it's common to lose weight after surgery while on the

liquid diet. So my questions:

If you did lose weight after surgery, how much was it? and is it true

that you gain it all back and maybe more once you start eating

regular foods (due to a messed up metabolism)?
