Guest guest
Doris, It could have to do with PSC resulting in an elevated INR, or it could just be something small and simple (I once needed to have a vessel in my nose cauterized, I was told, but I passed. Eventually the nose bleeds stopped). Either way I would mention it to a doctor. It's easy enough to check to see if your blood in clotting properly, if not you may need to see an ears, nose and throat doc, or do nothing at all. However, I would let the doc make that determination. Good luck,
Guest guest
This is the only outward symptom of PSC Noah had before diagnosis. I would say something. He was having terrible clot times during this time when he had his nose bleeds. I would call your hepatologist. I have been having nose bleeds quite often. Should I bring this to the attention of my family doctor or does it have something to do with PSC?? I just am not sure who to call on this one. I had one nose bleeds on Sunday & had 2 nose bleeds yesterday. Any information would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Doris PSC/Arthritis
Guest guest
hey doris....i treat myself herbally for my biliary disease and crohns.....in my opinion..nose bleeds means u r not getting enough vit k....which comes from dark leafy green veg etc....apparantly normal people dont have a problem but if u have liver disease your body may not be able to synthesize vit k properly....i sent for something called peak k2...from a company called AOR in canada....for this problem but if u are on some meds u shouldnt take it...so do a bunch of research on vit k and your liver etc....also i would suggest taking herbs with will strengthen your capillaries....like shavegrass or horsetail...bone tea or oatstraw...maybe alfalfa....are your bones and muscles aching too?...could b u are too acid and your body is leeching calcium from capillaries and bones to balance the ph of your blood and weakening the blood vessels in your nose....i suggest a naturopath....u know the greatest thing about going to see a naturopath is that u only see them 3 or 4 times and usually things get sorted and u dont have to go on an on-going basis as in the traditional medical system....i would go as soon as possible....if the blood is too acid then cancer and other disease have the perfect environment to grow....by eating raw veg and fruit and avoiding meats and grains and processed food u can balance your blood....a great website is wilderness family naturals.com...they have great info on the roots of disease and specific info on the herbs but the website is under construction and apparantly they do not realize that the text and the background are both in black so unless u highlight the text u wil never see it.....i know herbs and such dont seem like much compared to the drama and majesty of techno medicine but it has saved my life and i am uncut....very healthy given my lifelong illnesses...look awesome and feel that i will live a long life if i take proper care...i usually walk 10 k in the morning too and just last winter i couldnt move out of bed.....another great supplement is primal defense...developed by a guy who had crohns and cured himself and became a naturopath and started a company....it is based on japanese technology...purple bacteria that eats toxins in the gut.....i highly recommend it as it saved me from surgery....hope this helps and that u have an open and inquiring mind...it is the best defense against disease....good luck and take care kat The Hunger Site is back and needs your help in the fight against hunger! Guest guest
Doris Might be nothing might not. With allergy season here, if you are troubled along these lines that could be it. It could also be a sign that the liver is having trouble creating the clotting factors & a sign of more serious liver dysfunction. You can't guess this one. It has to be tested to narrow down the cause. Bestjd, 45UC 1973, Jpouch 2000, Chronic Pouchitis 2001, PSC 2004, Stage 3Southern, ILkrmpotich@... Nose Bleeds I have a simple question, I think. Guest guest
Doris, I also have nosebleeds. I wondered too if it was a symptom of something. I was told by my regular Dr. that it was just dryness. She said that the bleed was worse because I'm on a blood thinner. It will start by just bending over. I go through spells where it happens every day. I'm concerned too. No PSC symtoms.
