Guest guest
Hello, It's me again. I am wondering if anyone out there has any good advice about wiring my daughter. She is an extremely petite 2 1/2 year old (21 pounds). She is currently wearing the processor for her Nucleus 24 (and of course the wires to the coil and microphone) and then she has her tactaid which she wears under her clothes across her chest (the CI harness tends to rub against this) which is also conected to ANOTHER processor even bigger than the Nucleus one. The tactaid processor has the microphone on it, so it has to be accessible to sound input. The TA processor has a metal clip that is meant to be clipped to the pants or something, but she is so little it pulls her pants down! not to mention the fact that she is so active the clip constantly comes off. This is just so much for a little girl. We keep trying different things, but haven't found anything that seems to work yet. I would greatly appreciate any ideas. Thanks so much, Amelia

While this page is meant for different ideas for holding ci speech processors, perhaps you can find something that will be helpful, or at least spark another creative idea for this problem. http://www.listen-up.org/ci/ci-pouches.htm Keep us posted on how things go. Guest guest
Amelia, After using a fanny pack for a year and replacing lots of cords we switched to using a sports bra or t-shirt with a pocket. was little too and the XS worked great. (Target, Walmart and gymnastic supply stores all carry them) I used blanket binding (later I used cotton flannel) and made a pocket up and down on the inside of the back. The sports bra had enough stretch that it could keep it tight against her. I now stick it in a sock to help keep the wires drier (it is humid in Arkansas). I would try a pocket on the front and back. It would balance out the weight some. The racer style keeps the shoulder straps from sliding down. I also run them through the washer and dryer so they shrink. We also have a few t-shirts that I have added pockets to. It bounces around more but as she grows that isn't as much of an issue. had a favorite denim vest that I added a pocket to and that worked too. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
