Guest guest
, glad to hear about your upcoming consultation. As someone who has just recently been diagnosed, I've done a few things. First I have almost completely quit drinking alcohol (had 2 glasses champagne last night!) and limit other things that might be bad for the liver such as tylenol. I eat a whole avocado everyday - it has good physterols (good oils) in it. I drink more water. I eat much less processed foods/fast foods. I have also visited a Complementary (Alternative) Medical Doctor (i.e. MD) who placed me on a bunch of vitmamins, fishoils, live yeast/bacteria probiotics and nutritional supplements. She also told me to eat plenty of avocados, asparagus and soy. She said to eat steamed vegetables more than raw veggies because they are eaisier to absorb with veggie stew being the best. Seeing her really made a difference because I felt she empowered me by directing me to simple weapons my body needs for the fight against these diseases. There were alot of posts on the alternatives/nutritional supplements topic last week or so. The ones I can highly recommend are a combo super-multivitamin/food supplement, folate (vitamin), NAC (N-Acetyl- Cystein - recharges the livers main detoxifying enzymes). I think the fishoils and probiotcs are worth it as well. Alot of folks like SAMe and ModuCare as well. Another interesting fact I learned yesterday is that Matso bread (Kosher unleavened bread) is very constipating, as are banana chips/flakes. Anyway Warm Wishes for a Happy & Healthy New Year, Stef PS Positive Mental Attitude - PMA - goes a long way to cure!
